Angelique Keyes, LVN,BSHCA,MPA-Chief Executive Officer
Angelique Keyes is the founder of SleeveSisters.org, a diverse community that empowers and supports women who have undergone the Vertical Gastric Sleeve (Gastrectomy). While receiving her license in nursing and pursuing a Bachelor in Health Science Administration, she started an online support group to document the experience of women who have had the surgery; her research showed there was a need for a support group that would provide a more intimate, and private connection with other women who choose to remain confidential about their decision to have weight loss surgery. In 2018, Angelique graduated with her MPA concentrating on human service and community development and volunteers her time as an Ambassador for Oakland's Mayor Libby Schaaf.
Keyes' mission for Sleeve Sisters is to provide its members with resources such as, support teams, preventative measures, obesity awareness, insurance information, healthy recipes, fitness goals and challenges.
